Rome Staycation – Italy Guide

When @mapiful invited me to join their #travelwithmapiful community, I remembered my best travel memories and there is always one trip that has my heart!

In Dec 2018 we travelled to Rome for Matt’s 40th birthday and it has now become one of my favorite places in the world!

TIP ONE

Where To Stay

Hotel Valadier – the perfect location with historic buildings and restaurants within walking distance! Full of Italian charm and great rates!

Our room was quite small but who wants to stay in a hotel when you have such beauty outside!?

TIP TWO

Where To Explore

Discover a view of the bustling city at night from ‘Relais Fontana Di Trevi’ (a roof top bar overlooking the ‘Trevi fountain’) or climb to the top of the ‘Spanish steps’ for breathtaking views by day…watch out for pick pockets!

TIP THREE

Eating Out

Il Chianti Vineria – A Tuscan restaurant with rustic charm & a cosy atmosphere!

The food is amazing & the perfect place to go for a special treat or occasion!

TIP FOUR

Night Or Day Walks

Wander down the ‘Via die Fori Imperiali,’ the road leading to the Colosseum. With historic ruins on either side, it gives you a real sense of what the city was like 2000 yrs ago!

Enjoy a delicious Italian ice-cream by day and street entertainment by night!

Get lost in the side streets & see the most beautiful graffiti art & rustic doors you can’t help but touch!

TIP FIVE

When To Travel

Discover the most elegant Christmas display in December!

The buzz of Christmas shopping on the main streets is unreal but you can slope off into the side streets for some food and wine to recharge before hitting the shops again!
